art journal week 33-34

August 6-19: The last two weeks of summer! The first week we took a family vacation to Wisconsin Dells, just the 4 of us. It was fun! None of us had ever been to Wisconsin, which is kind of bizarre since I have so much family in the Chicago area... you'd think we'd have crossed the nearby border at least once before but we had not. Wisconsin Dells is definitely a tourist town! Full of souvenir shops, candy shops, and tourist attractions that aren't worth the money ha! We did find a good balance of activities we enjoyed though. The...

July 23- August 5: With no more summer camps left, we spent a solid week trying to pack in as many fun outings around St. Louis as we could. This included a factory tour at a local chocolate manufacturer, Chocolate Chocolate Chocolate, Gus' Pretzels, The Magic House, and Andy's for some ice cream on a super hot day. In the second week of this span we dropped the boys off at my parents house for a few nights, and Sean and I went to Kansas City for a quick weekend getaway! We stayed near the Streetcar and checked out a...

art journal weeks 29-30

July 9-22: We started out this week still at Innsbrook, where Nolan suddenly caught a summer cold. He was so miserable after coughing so much that Saturday night I took him to urgent care on Sunday morning. He has a history with croup, which we thought he would have outgrown by age 9, but the poor guy needed a steroid to clear up some of the inflammation on his vocal cords. He was able to come back to Innsbrook to enjoy our last few hours of vacation at the beach. The next day though he was back to feeling crummy...

art journal weeks 27-28

June 25-July 8: Books I've read: The Giver of Stars (Jojo Moyes), The Four Winds (Kristin Hannah), The Housemaid (Freida McFadden). I wasn't the biggest fan of The Housemaid but the other two... I just love a good historical fiction! Definitely recommend. I've been listening to Taylor Swift's rereleased Speak Now album. Lots of new songs from the vault that are great! Started having FOMO about this Eras Tour after it came through MO this week. I'm really not big on going to concerts overall but from what I've seen online this tour seems really great! We celebrated the Fourth...

art journal weeks 25-26

June 11-24: Sean got to attend a City soccer (ahem... football) game with his brother. Hoping we can take our boys to a game sometime soon! I worked on a long overdue project, which was repainting a potting bench we have out on our screened in porch. Sean built it when we moved into this house almost 12 years ago and at the time we painted it a rustic yellow color. I went with more of a Magnolia green to coordinate with our black, white, grey, and natural vibes in the space. I love how it turned out!  I've been...
